The State’s Leaders on Education Make A Choice— Jordan Cunningham for Assembly
Templeton, CA— Local school board member and candidate for Assembly, Jordan Cunningham has earned the endorsement of both the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the California Charter School Association Advocates (CCSAA).
“Jordan has demonstrated a commitment to the region’s youth as well as our public education system,” said Eric Heins, President of the CTA. “We are excited to work with someone who not only has the experience needed to understand the current challenges facing California’s students, but also the passion to provide creative solutions.”
As the CTA and CCSAA are usually at odds when it comes to the candidates they support at the legislative level, their endorsements make it clear that Cunningham is both ready and committed to bridging gaps that have existed in California’s education system for decades.
“Jordan appreciates the role of charter schools in California’s public education system, as innovators helping to educate and prepare our students for a 21st century economy,” said Carlos Marquez, Senior Political Director, CCSAA. “Jordan is committed to protecting charter public schools as a high quality option for parents across the state in the legislature.”
A father of four, volunteer for youth organizations, and member of the Templeton Unified School Board, Cunningham is widely recognized for his commitment to the region’s future leaders.
While highlighting the unique nature of the two endorsements, Cunningham was asked how he felt about the support. He responded, “I am honored to have the support of these tremendous organizations. I think it shows my commitment to excellence in our public education system and the broad coalition of support we are building in this campaign. I want our children to have the best possible chance to succeed and our schools provide that foundation.”
Jordan Cunningham is running to succeed termed-out Katcho Achadjian in the 35th Assembly District, and lives in Templeton with his wife, Shauna, and their four children.
