Public safety officers endorse Cunningham for Assembly
Templeton, CA— Templeton, CA— Scores of Central Coast public safety officers have pledged their support for former San Luis Obispo Deputy District Attorney Jordan Cunningham to be the next Assemblyman representing San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
“As a former deputy district attorney, Jordan has dedicated much of his career to the safety of our residents and he knows how to work with the men and women in uniform,” said Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown. “He understands the challenges we face and will prioritize public safety. I am confident that he will do an outstanding job in the Assembly.”
San Luis Obispo Sheriff Ian Parkinson agrees, saying, “Jordan is a former prosecutor who understands what policies are needed to ensure public safety. He will make sure that our region continues to be a safe place to live, work and raise a family. I’m supporting his campaign because of his proven leadership and experience and I am excited to have him in Sacramento representing us.”
Law enforcement supporters also include dozens of district attorneys, deputy sheriffs and police officers as well as several law enforcement organizations.
“I am honored that so many of the brave men and women who devote their lives to making our communities safe have placed their faith in me to carry their message and mission to Sacramento,” said Cunningham.
Born and raised on the Central Coast, Cunningham earned his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating, he worked as a federal law clerk and as an attorney for the United States Department of Justice, eventually moving back to San Luis Obispo County to serve as a Deputy District Attorney. He now is the co-founder and owner of Cunningham Law Group.
“Public safety is the cornerstone responsibility of government, but irresponsible policies such as Prop. 47 and prison realignment have tied our local law enforcements’ hands behind their backs,” said Cunningham. “Sacramento policies need to focus on helping law enforcement and keeping our communities safe. When elected, I will use my experience to provide common-sense solutions to these problems that have been created by politicians.”
