Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Endorses Jordan Cunningham for State Assembly
Templeton, CA – Small business owner and Assembly candidate, Jordan Cunningham has been endorsed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA).
“A proven taxpayer advocate, there is no doubt Jordan is the best choice to represent the hard-working families of the Central Coast,” said Jon Coupal, HJTA President.
Founded in 1978, HJTA was first recognized for its work to pass Proposition 13, a law that has stabilized California property taxes and limited politicians’ ability to raise taxes at will. It is estimated, with the help of HJTA, that Prop 13 has saved California’s taxpayers $528 billion.
As the President of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association, Jordan Cunningham is well aware of HJTA’s accomplishments. Born and raised in San Luis Obispo County, he is proud to serve as president to a nonprofit organization that defends and educates taxpayers, while helping to reinforce the work of HJTA at the local level.
In addition to fiscal responsibility, Cunningham has helped to enhance public safety as well as public education. A former Deputy District Attorney, he prosecuted a wide variety of crimes – including fraud, assault, domestic violence, and environmental crimes. Currently, an elected member of the Templeton Unified School Board, he works with colleagues to ensure students are provided with a safe and constructive classroom environment.
Jordan Cunningham is running for Assembly to replace the termed-out Katcho Achadjian, and represent the residents of a region that he has always called home. He lives in Templeton with his wife, Shauna, and their four children.
