–Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo) has been named the California Legislator of the Year by the Federation of California Builders Exchange (CalBX).
“This is a tremendous honor,” said Assemblyman Cunningham. “We’ve worked extremely hard to make things easier for small business owners and expand opportunities and funding for career technical education. It feels good to know that our efforts are both noticed and appreciated.”
Assemblyman Cunningham was nominated and selected by the individual exchanges of commercial construction contractors from CalBX across the state for working in a bi-partisan manner to advance opportunities for the construction industry. Over the last year, he has both authored and supported legislation to expand vocational education programs, reduce regulatory burdens and create job opportunities.
“Cunningham has set the tone for collaborative, bipartisan legislative efforts to tackle regulatory burdens for all licensed contractors. By authoring legislation and taking the time to visit our member’s construction projects, he clearly values our industry’s priorities,” said Tim Murphy, CEO of SRBX and Chairman of CalBX.
Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham is a small business owner, former member of the Templeton Unified School Board and Deputy District Attorney. He lives in San Luis Obispo County with his wife, Shauna, and their four children.
