Catching up with Team Cunningham on the Central Coast Business Tour
Templeton, CA— Assembly Candidate Jordan Cunningham is now three weeks into his Central Coast Business Tour. So far he is learning some of the challenges that local businesses face in the current business climate.
Cunningham stated, “So far I have learned that no matter the sector or size of business, they face challenges due to a convoluted regulatory system and laws that drive up labor costs and decrease staffing flexibility.”
Jordan already has earned the support of groups representing small business, such as the California Small Business Association, National Federation of Independent Business, and Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
The local businesses toured over the last three weeks, include:
- Sunset Auto Center– A destination for new and used cars in the region for nearly 40 years.
- Zotovich Estate Vineyard & Winery– Family owned and operated, Zotovich grows all of its own grapes.
- Kennedy Club– The Central Coast institution employs hundreds of local residents and contributes to better health for thousands of members.
- Nature’s Touch Harvest & Nursery– Buys and sells naturally grown and certified organic produce to Central Coast residents.
- Altus Wealth Solutions & Accents Framing– Through financial planning and coaching, helps families plan for a stronger, more successful future.
- Tognazzini’s Dockside Restaurant– Provides residents and visitors with a taste of the Central Coast and a truly unique dining experience.
- A Place to Grow: Recycled Greenhouses & Pacific Coast Lumber– A husband and wife team run two small businesses that prove business and environmental stewardship can go hand-in-hand.
- Magnolia and Primrose Care Homes– Located in Orcutt, the recently expanded facilities provide care for elderly dementia patients in our community.
- Salon Studio 23– The full service salon has been open for nearly ten years and recently received recognition from the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce.
- Paquet Photography– The photography company covers local events such as races at the Santa Maria Speedway.
- Valley Art Gallery– Provides a showcase where artists of Santa Maria can exhibit their work for the entire community.
- Central Coast Propane– Delivering and installing propane for the residents of San Luis Obispo and north Santa Barbara counties since 1992.
- Associated Traffic Safety– Helps to keep the roads safe for drivers by providing traffic safety controls on projects all over Central California.
- ABI General Engineering– A grading, paving and underground engineering company that employs dozens of head of household jobs for Central Coast residents.
- Midland Pacific Homes– An Atascadero-based construction company helping to build affordable homes on the Central Coast.
- Home Instead Senior Care– Allows seniors in need of assistance to receive care while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
As a co-founder of the Cunningham Law Group, Jordan understands the burdens of owning and operating a small business in California. When elected, Jordan will work with state and local leaders to author legislation that provides common-sense reforms needed in the business community.
