Atascadero Mayor Pro Tem endorses Cunningham for Assembly
Templeton, CA— Former Deputy District Attorney and candidate for Assembly, Jordan Cunningham, has received the endorsement of Heather Moreno, Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Atascadero.
Originally appointed to the City Council in 2012, Moreno received the most votes of any candidate in her campaign for re-election last year. As a small business owner and dedicated community member, her leadership has revolved around fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and regional continuity.
When asked about her decision to support Cunningham, Moreno said, “Whether it is in the courtroom or the community, Jordan has exemplified the ability to provide leadership in the areas that matter most. I am confident that his approach to governing will help create jobs and strengthen our economy – providing resources to improve our communities on every level.”
Often recognized for his work to protect crime victims as a former Deputy DA in San Luis Obispo County, Cunningham has also spent years fighting for hard-working families and taxpayers. Currently the President of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association, he leads an organization dedicated to educating taxpayers and ensuring government accountability.
A central coast native, Cunningham’s commitment to bettering the community that he has always called home can be demonstrated through his regional involvement. He volunteers time with numerous local youth organizations, and serves as an elected member of the Templeton Unified School Board. As a father of four, Cunningham will work to increase local control and wants to ensure school districts are preparing the area’s students for a 21st century economy.
The endorsement of Moreno adds to a growing list of supporters who, like her, want a leader who can work with local governing bodies to solve problems, understand the unique qualities offered by the district, and make commonsense decisions to benefit the economy and its businesses.
